Abstract

Lampung Province's NTP in February 2011 for each subsector was recorded at 125.61 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 107.53 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 115.64 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 105.65 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 111.83 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 117.62.

The increase in prices in the sub-sector of smallholder plantation crops, such as the price of coffee, chocolate and pepper, as well as the increase in prices in the sub-sector of horticultural crops such as bananas, made Lampung's NTP increase 0.28 percent compared to the previous month.

If the NTP per subsector in February 2011 is compared with January 2010, it can be seen that three of the five NTP subsectors have increased, the horticultural crops subsector rose 0.47 percent, the smallholder plantation crops subsector rose 2.40 percent, and the livestock subsector rose 0.47 percent. .20 percent, while two subsectors experienced a decline, namely the food crops subsector (0.37%) and the fisheries subsector (0.68).

Of the 32 provinces reported in February 2011, 23 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 9 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP in February 2011 occurred in Bali Province, namely 1.34 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers fell by 0.03 percent while the price received by farmers rose by 1.31 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in South Kalimantan Province, which fell by 0.70 percent, due to an increase in prices paid by farmers of 0.82 percent while the prices received by farmers only increased by 0.12 percent.

February 2011 saw deflation in rural areas in Lampung Province amounting to 0.24 percent. Deflation in rural areas was mainly caused by the decline in the price index for the foodstuffs group. The decline in the index also occurred in the transportation and communication group, while other groups still experienced an increase in the index.
