The total export value of Lampung Province in March 2011 reached US$ 281.93 million or an increase of US$ 81.39 million (40.59%) compared to exports in February 2011. When compared with March 2010, it increased by US$ 119.96 million (74 .07%) of US$ 161.97 million.
The five main categories of goods that experienced an increase in export value in March 2011 compared to February 2011 were coffee, tea, spices, up US$ 39.61 million; animal/vegetable fats & oils US$ 29.45 million; processed fruit/vegetables US$ 6.35 million; processed meat and fish US$ 4.24 million; and Rubber and rubber goods US$ 2.54 million. Five other main categories of goods experienced a decline in export value in March 2011 compared to February 2011. The largest decline in exports occurred in the pulp/pulp goods category, down US$ 7.62 million; cocoa/chocolate US$ 6.22 million; organic chemicals US$ 1.85 million; fish and shrimp US$ 1.76 million; and wood, wooden goods US$ 0.02 million.
The import value of Lampung Province in March 2011 reached US$237.83 million or an increase of US$22.16 million (10.28%) compared to February 2011 which was recorded at US$215.67 million. When compared with March 2010, Lampung Province's imports increased by US$91.81 million from US$146.02 million.
The largest increase in imports occurred in the sugar and confectionery goods category, which rose by around US$19.48 million. The next categories of goods that rose were wheat US$8.76 million, Live Animals US$6.79 million, Milling Products US$2.32 million, Machinery/Mechanical Equipment US$1.46 million and Salt, Sulfur and Lime US$0 .65 million. Six categories of goods, out of the 10 main categories of imported goods, experienced an increase and four others experienced a decrease. The biggest decline in imports occurred in fertilizers which fell US$ 19.53 million and oil seeds fell US$ 2.63 million.
