Abstract

The NTP for Lampung Province in December 2012 for each sub-sector was recorded at 136.67 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 112.63 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 127.24 for the People's Plantation Plantation Subsector (NTP- Pr), 106.12 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 112.60 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 126.04.

The decline in prices in the horticultural crop sub-sector such as red chilies and the fisheries sub-sector such as snapper caused Lampung's NTP to fall by 0.06 percent.

In December 2012, two sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector which rose 0.52 percent and the livestock sub-sector rose 0.22 percent. Meanwhile, the rice and secondary crops sub-sector experienced a decline in NTP of 0.13 percent, the horticultural crops sub-sector fell 0.56 percent, and the fisheries sub-sector fell 0.31 percent.

Of the 32 provinces, 14 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 18 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in Banten Province, namely 1.12 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers only increased by 0.06 percent, while the price received by farmers increased by 1.19 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in West Kalimantan Province, which fell by 1.08 percent, because the price paid by farmers rose 0.59 percent while the price received by farmers fell 0.49 percent.

In December 2012, inflation occurred in rural areas in Lampung Province of 0.31 percent. Inflation in rural areas was caused by an increase in the price index for the food, housing and clothing groups. The group that did not experience changes was the health group, while the transportation and communication group experienced a decrease in index.
