The total export value of Lampung Province in December 2012 reached US$276.3 million or decreased by US$112.8 million (28.99%) compared to November 2012 exports which were recorded at US$389 million. Exports in December 2012, compared with December 2011, rose US$54.7 million (24.67%) from US$221.6 million.
The five main categories of goods throughout 2012 were animal/vegetable fats & oils, coffee, tea, spices, wood pulp/pulp; preparations from fruit/vegetables; and fish and shrimp. The highest decline in exports occurred in the 4 main categories of goods, while the main category of goods that increased was wood pulp/pulp. Animal/vegetable fats & oils experienced a decline in exports reaching 46.52% or US$78.68 million. Coffee, tea, spices also fell by US$44.36 million or 42.58%. Processed exports of fruits/vegetables; and fish and shrimp fell US$1.13 million and US$2.25 million.
The largest contribution to export value in December 2012 occurred in animal/vegetable fats and oils; coffee, tea, and spices; wood pulp/pulp; and processed fruit/vegetables, each contributing 32.75%; 21.65%; 6.22%; and 4.91% of total December 2012 exports from Lampung Province. The role of these four groups reached 65.53% of total exports in the same period.
The main destination country for exports throughout 2012 was the United States which reached US$403.8 million, followed by Italy, India and the Netherlands at US$401.6 million, US$340.4 million and US$330 million respectively. The role of the four reached 39.59% of total exports in that period.
