The number of poor people in Lampung Province increases

The number of poor people in Lampung in March 2015 reached 1,163.49 thousand people (14.35 percent), an increase of 19.6 thousand people (0.14 percent) compared to the poor population in September 2014 which was 1,143.93 thousand people (14.21 percent).

During the period September 2014 - March 2015, the poor population in urban areas increased by around 9.06 thousand people (from 224.21 thousand people in September 2014 to 233.27 thousand people in March 2015), while in rural areas it increased by 10.50 thousand people (from 919.73 thousand people in September 2014 to 930.22 thousand people in March 2015).

The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2014 was 10.68 percent, rising to 10.94 percent in March 2015, while the poor people in rural areas also increased from 15.46 percent in September 2014 to 15.56 percent in March 2015.
