Abstract
July 2018, Bandar Lampung City suffered a deflation of 0.04 percent due to a decline in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 134.62 in June 2018 to 134.56 in June 2018. Only one expenditure group experienced deflation in Bandar Lampung City, transport, communication and financial services fell by 1.83 percent. In contrast, six other groups, namely foodstuffs experienced inflation or an increase of 0.66 percent; education, recreation and sports group by 0.31 percent; clothing group 0.19 percent; food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco 0.12 percent; health group 0.12 percent; and housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.08 percent.
The contribution of expenditure groups in the formation of deflation in July 2018 was entirely from the transport, communication and financial services group by 0.28 percent. In contrast, six other groups contributed to inflation, namely foodstuffs by 0.16 percent, food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.03 percent; education, recreation and sports group 0.02 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel groups; clothing group; and the healthcare group contributed 0.01 percent each.
Some of the dominant commodities contribute to the formation of deflation, inter-city transportation, red peppers, onions, charter / rental vehicles, chicken meat, beef, wet shrimp, grapes, swallows / bengkol, and live chickens.
