Abstract

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) of Lampung Province in 1st Quarter 2019 is 99.56. Index numbers below 100 mean that the economic condition of Lampung consumers is no better than the previous quarter. The slightly declining economic condition was mainly due to a decrease in current income with an index of 94.40. Even though income declined, the volume of consumption of the Lampung community continued to increase, reaching 106.50. The highest consumption volume in this quarter was formed by the food ingredients component which reached 126.94. Components of purchasing pulses, food / beverages and education also gave a high enough share of 111.97, 111.07 and 108.39 respectively. When viewed from the influence of inflation, the price increase in this quarter does not significantly affect the community in meeting their needs, so that the variable influence of inflation is obtained by 103.76.

The CTI value of Lampung Province in 2nd Quarter 2019 was estimated at 113.77. This means that the economic conditions in the coming quarter are expected to be better and more optimistic compared to the current quarter. Lampung's economy is more optimistic in the coming quarter due to an increase in estimated future income reaching 129.44. This is in line with the existence of the Ramadan Month and Eid al-Fitr which fall in May-June 2019 so that the economic turmoil of the community increases.
