Abstract

December 2019, Bandar Lampung City experienced inflation of 0.47 percent due to an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 139.26 in November 2019 to 139.92 in December 2019. Of the seven expenditure groups in Bandar Lampung, six groups experienced inflation (increase in index), namely the foodstuffs group of 1.29 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco group 0.08 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group 0.16 percent; clothing group 0.55 percent; health group 0.60 percent; and transportation, communication and financial services 0.37 percent. Meanwhile, the education, recreation and sports groups did not experience changes in the index.

The contribution of the general expenditure group in forming inflation in December 2019 was 0.47 percent. Six expenditure groups namely, the foodstuffs group contributed to the formation of inflation by 0.31 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco 0.01 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.04 percent; clothing group 0.03 percent; and the transportation, communication and financial services group 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the education, recreation and sports groups did not contribute to the formation of inflation or deflation.

The dominant commodities contributing to the formation of inflation in December 2019 include: eggs at 0.11 percent; shallots 0.11 percent; red chili 0.08 percent; vegetable tomatoes 0.05 percent; sand 0.04 percent; inter-city transportation 0.04 percent; oranges 0.03 percent; toothpaste 0.02 percent; pedigree chicken meat 0.02 percent; and gold jewelry 0.02 percent.
