Abstract

  • In November 2008, Lampung Province's NTP for each subsector was recorded at 108.47 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 96.94 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 96.85 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector ( NTP-Pr), 102.18 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 110.74 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 103.74, which decreased by 1.12 percent compared to the previous month, namely 104.91.
  • The decline in NTP of 1.12 percent occurred due to a greater decline in the index received by farmers, although the index paid by farmers also fell, but the decline was relatively small. The index received by farmers fell 1.63 percent, while the index paid by farmers fell 0.52 percent. The commodities that triggered the decline in the index received by Lampung Province farmers in November 2008 were pepper, coffee, coconut, corn, pineapple, mango and petai.
  • If the NTP per subsector in November 2008 is compared with October 2008, it can be seen that four of the five NTP subsectors experienced a decline, namely the food crops subsector (1.09%), the horticulture subsector (2.02%), the smallholder plantation crops subsector (1, 44%), and the livestock subsector (0.34%). Meanwhile, another subsector, namely the fisheries subsector, experienced an increase of 0.86%.
  • Of the 32 provinces reported in November 2008, only 10 provinces experienced an increase in the index and 22 other provinces experienced a decrease in the index. The highest increase in NTP in November 2008 occurred in South Sumatra Province, namely 3.12 percent, because the index received by farmers rose to 3.70 percent, while the index paid by farmers only increased by 0.57 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in DI Yogyakarta Province, namely down by 4.10 percent, because the index received by farmers fell by 3.90 percent while the index paid by farmers rose by 0.21 percent.
  • In November 2008, there was deflation in rural areas in Lampung Province amounting to 0.68 percent due to a high decline in the price index in four groups, namely: foodstuffs (1.31%), prepared foods (0.17%), housing (0. .90%), and transportation and communication group (0.05%). Meanwhile, three other groups experienced an increase in the index, namely the clothing group (0.82%), health (0.32%), and the education, recreation and sports group (0.95%).
