Abstract

Lampung Province NTP November 2011 for each subsector was recorded at 132.48 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 110.29 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 125.13 for the People's Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-Pr ), 105.79 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 114.46 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 123.24.

The decline in prices in the food crop sub-sector, such as the price of cassava and peanuts, caused Lampung's NTP to fall by 0.35 percent and was driven by the increase in prices of goods and services which were higher than the prices received by farmers.

If NTP per subsector in November 2011 is compared with October 2011, it can be seen that four NTP subsectors have increased, namely the horticultural crops subsector rose 0.20 percent, the smallholder plantation crops subsector rose 0.18 percent, the livestock subsector rose 0.34 percent and the fisheries sub-sector rose 0.22 percent. Meanwhile, sub-sectors experienced a decline, namely the food crops sub-sector which fell 0.88 percent.

Of the 32 provinces, 19 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 13 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in Bali Province, namely 0.99 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers only increased by 0.13 percent, while the price received by farmers increased by 1.12 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in DI Yogyakarta Province, which fell by 0.55 percent, because the price paid by farmers rose by 0.41 percent while the price received by farmers actually fell by 0.14 percent.

November 2011 saw inflation in rural areas in Lampung Province amounting to 0.40 percent. Inflation in rural areas was mainly caused by an increase in the price index for the foodstuffs group, and was supported by an increase in the index for other groups except the clothing group.
