The total export value of Lampung Province in February 2011 reached US$ 200.53 million or decreased by US$ 24.34 million (10.83%) compared to exports in January 2011. When compared with February 2010, it increased by US$ 30.79 million (18 .14%) of US$ 169.74 million.
Four main categories of goods experienced a decline in export value in February 2011. The largest decline in exports occurred in the category of animal/vegetable fats & oils amounting to US$ 38.71 million; coffee, tea, spices worth US$ 9.78 million; processed fruit/vegetables around US$ 1.18 million; and organic chemicals US$ 0.67 million. The six main categories of goods that experienced an increase in export value were pulp/pulp, up US$ 13.73 million; fish and shrimp US$ 8.12 million; cocoa/chocolate US$ 6.89 million; processed meat and fish US$ 3.36 million; wood, wooden goods US$ 0.50 million; and Rubber and rubber goods US$ 0.10 million.
The import value of Lampung Province in February 2011 reached US$ 215.67 million or decreased by US$ 30.25 million (15.04%) compared to January 2011 which was recorded at US$ 253.84 million. When compared with February 2010, Lampung Province's imports increased by US$ 127.70 million from US$ 89.97 million.
The largest increase in imports occurred in the fertilizer goods category, which rose by around US$ 21.45 million. The next category of goods that rose was live animals at US$ 3.89 million, while two other categories only rose to under US$ 1 million. Four categories of goods, out of the 10 main categories of imported goods, experienced an increase, one did not change and five others experienced a decrease. The biggest decline in imports occurred in wheat which fell by US$ 1.72 million and mechanical machinery/aircraft fell by US$ 1.19 million.
