Abstract

The NTP for Lampung Province in June 2012 for each sub-sector was recorded at 134.54 for the Rice & Secondary Crops Subsector (NTP-P), 112.52 for the Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H), 128.72 for the Community Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP- Pr), 105.60 for the Livestock Subsector (NTP-Pt) and 113.98 for the Fisheries Subsector (NTP-Pi). Meanwhile, the Provincial/Combined NTP was recorded at 125.25.

The increase in prices in the horticultural crop sub-sector, namely bananas and red chilies, as well as the plantation crop sub-sector such as the price of coffee and chocolate, made Lampung's NTP increase 0.15 percent compared to the previous month.

Compared to May 2012, three sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the rice and secondary crops sub-sector which rose 0.11 percent, the horticultural crops sub-sector rose 0.68 percent, and the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector rose 0.29 percent. Meanwhile, the livestock sub-sector experienced a decrease in NTP of 0.08 percent and the fisheries sub-sector decreased by 0.47 percent.

Of the 32 provinces, 14 provinces experienced an increase in NTP and 18 provinces experienced a decrease in NTP. The highest increase in NTP occurred in West Java Province, namely 0.96 percent, this was because the price paid by farmers increased by 0.52 percent, while the price received by farmers increased by 1.48 percent. Meanwhile, the largest decline in NTP occurred in West Kalimantan Province, which fell by 0.62 percent, because the price paid by farmers rose by 0.25 percent while the price received by farmers actually fell by 0.37 percent.

In June 2012, inflation occurred in rural areas in Lampung Province of 0.69 percent. Inflation in rural areas was mainly caused by increases in the price index in the ready-made food, groceries, and education, recreation and sports groups
